And Helen Slater is the mom, aka Supergirl 1984. This show, even though it’s very light hearted and full of fun, definitely had character nods all around to appreciate. That’s a big sell on me for why the show worked as it did...Melissa’s character development as Kara came on its own.
Hm, interesting that reports are saying that - we only get a few lines, but the fact that the Machine didn’t call Harold “Harry” seemed to work against the idea that the Machine was channeling her personality.
She didn’t give the Machine a personality - she gave it code to upgrade itself and fight back against Samaritan. It borrowed her voice because she was always the voice of the machine - she did know, she knew in the Season 2 finale so don’t be sad! Buuuut she didn’t become one with God. She just died.
You can’t really count Root on the bury your gay trope because if you’ve followed her arc since she first appeared on the show you know this is the only logical conclusion to her character. I mean she was already the “analog” interface of the Machine AI.
