I have that going through my head as well. I may be forced to play some Fallout New Vegas tonight to purge it.

Ah, things have changed. Used to be I could pay cash and make up fake data to get the discount. Thanks for the info.
No, I didn’t. The Bush one specifically - what did he mean? The big energy bill passed under him would fit with incentivizing consumption, as he said. But most people read it as he meant conservation. So either he told the truth and people tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, or he misspoke, but then provided…
Wow, I worry that this could go so very, very wrong. If they play up that she is not qualified for the job, and so she screws things up or only blunders into doing well, this will be horrible. I hope we aren’t there, and I know that Fox News and Fox Entertainment are not the same thing, but the people keeping a show…
There are certainly times when people get things wrong and it hampers their communication. The ones that stand out the most to me are malapropisms. Some of them are close enough that the sentence could work either way, but would greatly change the intended meaning. Replacing “proceed” with “precede” is a common one.
Is it just a matter of filling out the application, handing the form over, and getting the discount? Then make up fake info, take your discount, and be happy. I have no idea if this is still possible, but I used to do that with every offer at the checkout line.
I think your Takeout staff discussion got it wrong (and not only by thinking that chicken nuggets are good). It is almost never quicker to get food by going inside instead of the drive through. I have tested this, mostly because I work with a bunch of stats geeks and we do things like that. (We’ve also taste tested…
The garlic base is incredible - I use it in a ton of things. I also just used the chili base to make a pot of chili as I was too lazy to do a bunch of spices that day. Won’t be going back to my old method.
I went up and looked, and now all I can see is the meat version of Audrey II. Can we get a Little Shop of Horrors remake at a fast food restaurant?
I wouldn’t say worse, but it isn’t much better.
So, why not just eat a Payday?
I will never understand any version of “If you do it right, x tastes just like y, so you should eat x.” Why not just eat y and be happy?
You comment on the issue, and you are absolutely commenting on the political aspect. That’s the way comments work - you can’t separate them out.
If they make good food, but everything else about the restaurant experience is horrible, do you really want to nurture that? It seems at least possible that the restaurant owners take all the wrong lessons from that, and think that everything went fine because these people keep coming back. Or they may be self aware…
This sounds remarkably similar to what the LW said happened to them. The restaurant forgot their reservation, forgot they were there and didn’t take their orders for a while, forgot a lot of their food and ended up bringing it out later (and cold), and then screwed up the bill. Not quite ‘let other people eat part of…
It is completely fair to judge them during their first month - if it was great, would you say that doesn’t really count and you’ll have to wait to see if the quality drops after they aren’t putting their best foot forward? If so, then sure, wait until next month, but if not, then accept that this is something that…
Try going to a fan convention. I talked with Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) for a while about her music, and she loved talking about it. The other people around had no idea she had toured with Duke Ellington before Star Trek.
I was told I looked like Jason Bateman, back before anyone cared about Jason Bateman (I’m talking back when Justine was the more important of the two). No one has said that since he became big.
I’ve met the guy who they thought was Peter Dinklage. I went to the University of Utah and, I had seen him around there. I met him at a party. He is taller than Dinklage by a decent amount.
Pence would be just as bad, but not worse at this point. He couldn’t do much more with executive orders than Trump as done, he couldn’t get any legislation through the House, and he would still be bound just enough by norms to not do anything crazier than Trump has already done.
