People buying and renting out property as they have done forever and AirBnB are two separate things. Without something like AirBnB, most of those rentals are either long term, or are handled by property management agencies in the area of the rental that can ensure that things are better cared for. In addition, those…
I’ve tried the one of introducing them to someone else, and it completely backfired.
I am thrilled to be wrong when I said that she would get manslaughter instead of being convicted of murder. I just hope that she gets an appropriate sentence, which as things stand now should be on the order of 50 years. (I prison sentences in general are too long, but I don’t think that a white cop that murdered a…
I doubt if the Castle Doctrine will play out here, but I doubt she’s getting convicted of murder. She’ll get manslaughter at the most, because the judge allowed them to come back with that.
Yep, had that happen, too. It’s hard for people to believe that someone would just honestly offer a compliment.
I do this, too, and it is both funny and sad how they often react to asking if a manager is available. I got great service at a Best Buy, and when I was done, I asked the woman helping me if there was a manager that I could speak with. Her face fell, as she thought she had done a good job and assumed that me wanting…
Nope. If you are a manager with hiring powers, then part of your job is to interview people to hire. They have other responsibilities, sure, but they are absolutely doing their job when they take time to interview someone. If they think that it is a huge pain, then they are in the wrong job.
Yeah, hiring managers are so busy.
Not a hiring manager, but I am involved in interviews and hiring in my department. I’ve had people send notes, and if anything, I’m less likely to want to go with the people sending notes. I’ve yet to read one that didn’t come across as unctuous or a waste of time. The waste of time ones (things like a quick e-mail…
Here I was thinking that the point of pizza is to be food, not to wait. What was I thinking?!
Really? You think the guy selling something as something else and refusing to make good on it when called out is in the right, and the person who got the fake goods is in the wrong?
Excellent. That means no attorney client privilege between the two of you. You’re also not an employee of the executive branch, so no executive privilege, either.
We’re getting into Mr. Mxyzptlk territory there. I guess if they wanted to plan an ad campaign around Superman it would work - he keeps talking up the McPLT until Mxyzptlk gets confused and ends up saying it backwards, sending him back to his dimension, allowing Supes to sit down and eat himself a burger to help save…
That’s not impeachment - that’s the trial. The impeachment happens in the House and only the House.
Not behind Nixon. Trump makes Nixon look like a paragon of virtue.
The base tends to strengthen the longer it sits
Well, I think I know what I’m having for dinner tonight!
I really, really wish I could take a train instead of a plane to see my relatives. But as you note, it is so much more expensive, and would end up taking me four days to get there.
I keep wrapping things in bacon, and then later I find other people have wrapped the same things in bacon. Onion rings is probably my favorite, and then I found a recipe that added BBQ sauce to the rings, and it was better. Tater tots wrapped individually in bacon is good, but a lot of effort. Hot dogs and sausages…
