If I have to speak louder than my normal voice to be heard clearly by the person immediately across the table, the place is too loud to eat at. It may be fine for watching a game while drinking with friends, but not for a place to eat.

Not quite. For that you have to get to the latest acronym, STREAM. The R is for Reading and wRiting (I assume the ‘Rithmetic was already covered so they didn’t bother).

Not a problem - I have looked back at everything, and I see what you were going for. I think the way they thread comments here is a part of the problem - it is not easy to see exactly where things come from.

Yeah, it’s the one I said. When you write a comment on an article about an American political party, the natural assumption is that you are going to be talking about the US, not Canada.

No one’s rights are being violated, and it is ridiculous to think so. No one has the right to evade consequences for what they say or do. People have the right to be full participants in society regardless of who they are.

If multiple people got that wrong, it was likely because the comment wasn’t clear.

No, it isn’t. That’s how society works. You don’t let people who are bad for society in general run rampant. Shame exists for a reason.

first hinted at in Fallout 6

That is not at all what I meant. I thought I was clear before, but let me try it again. Kicking someone out for being black is wrong, and by now the country has mostly come around to that idea, but we put laws in place to prevent it from happening when people didn’t all think it was wrong.

Oh, I’m not thrilled about the Burger King bit. But it isn’t exactly that I have to go to lunch with people I’m paid to spend time with. It’s a group of about ten people from all areas of the factory (of about 1000 people) to hang out away from the office once a week. Only one is even in the same department as me.

Was she punished for the rant? I thought she lost the game because she was getting signals from her coach, and then she went on the rant.

I agree with the sentiment, but the numbers aren’t quite right. The three cities you refer to - NYC, Los Angeles, and Chicago - account for about 43 million when the entire metropolitan area is considered, while the US population is about 327 million, so about 13% of the total.

Absolutely, and Nixon would be derided as a commie. The worst part about it is that Reagan is no longer Saint Ronnie - he’s been passed up as their favorite by Trump. I never liked Reagan or agreed with anything he did, but why oh why did they have to decide to throw him aside for Trump?

Still around here in Utah, still with just the slice of American cheese. I swear that they take left over patties and chop them up for the base meat, but I can’t confirm that.

I am glad this isn’t the only place that BK kept them around, because I’ve been starting to wonder just how weird Utah is compared to the rest of the country. (I know we’re weird, but I didn’t think we were completely different fast food menus weird.)

So, I’ve been “lucky” living in Utah where there have been tacos at BK continuously since they were first introduced? The lunch group where I work goes there from time to time, and someone always gets tacos. I just asked one of the people who gets it, and he said they come in a pair for about $1.30.

Whether or not the ACA is constitutional or not never swung on the mandate being a tax. The court certainly could have said it wasn’t, and that part was unconstitutional, without invalidating the whole thing. Severing unconstitutional parts of laws happens all the time, the question being whether the law can stand

I can’t agree with your last sentence. I would be shocked to find a handful of people who voted for Trump based on his ideas about healthcare - millions voted for him because they liked being able to let their racist flags fly.

Unfortunately, sexual orientation is not a protected class. But gender should cover it, as the reason they were not making the cake was because the gender of the two participants was not acceptable to the baker.
