To absolutely noone’s surprise.

Seriously, is there a single person on earth, excepting perhaps Blatter’s mother if she is very elderly and still living, who believes that Blatter hasn’t received bribes.

ESPN, particularly OTL, has been killing it.

Agreed...My only thought is that it would be FAR easier to comment freely on events occurring outside of our nation’s boundaries, on an organization with less direct implications here. Considering Viacom/Disney in the example of ESPN’s coverage of this debacle, there’s no connection to FIFA, and easier to be critical

+1 rocket appliance

Giving money to a federation is somewhat legal - it’s the fact that Warner et al. have been so brazen in putting the cash in their personal accounts that’s the issue. Even Blazer tried to tell Warner to be less obvious about getting and moving the cash.

Maybe a good strategy for Sepp & Co. to use?

No kidding. Even Cyrus wouldn’t be tripped up by the likes of Thabo “HIV doesn’t cause AIDS” motherfuckin’ Mbeki. This is some Keystone Kops shit, on a biblical scale.

Blatter and his cronies make Ricky and Julian look like Professor Moriarty.

US, England, Germany, France, Italy all have the infrastructure and stadiums built. Any of those could hold it next week. I’d say Australia could do it (AFL is happening during typical WC time though) and Japan should be able to. They had it in, what, 2002?

When the people are reffering to the Onion for evidence, common sense moves aren’t very common

Big props to all the journalists covering this scandal. It’s been refreshing to see some great reporting with such a large story.

RUH ROH!

I always wonder why people doing blatantly illegal things discuss them over email accounts which can be easily read later. Why the fuck would you create a trove of evidence against yourself when there are alternative options for talking to people that aren’t logged?

Yes he is. I bet he is soooo happy right now. Score one for America even though we can’t regularly score on the pitch.

Well played:

In his place a gentleman by the name of Bepp Slatter has been elected as FIFA president

The perfect spiteful thing to do now is for someone to hire Tim Roth to film a new ending to that FIFA movie.

Man, if only they had all the voting delegates of FIFA together in one place and able to elect a new leader. That would have been a real time and money saver.

It’s really only a matter of time until he’s indicted as well, isn’t it?
