Not to be snarky, but this is Gawker. They can’t be earnest about anything. I can’t be sure, but I think earnestness is a fireable offense there

Ummmmm those are the Hawkeyes
But... but what about Eternal Darkness? That game legitimately screwed with my head.
IDK about that, Coker was holding onto the ball too long, but he wasn’t getting a ton of time, either. The Clemson d-line was almost as locked in as Watson, and if the secondary had just played a bit better on a couple of those big passing plays, Clemson would have probably buried Bama before the 4th quarter.
I haven’t seen a ton of either of Lynch or Goff. They both look OK, but to me, they look more like David Carr and Joey Harrington than Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota
I’m almost certain that job will go to Dabo Swinney when the time comes. How Kiffin didn’t land in Maryland this year, I don’t know, but I bet he’ll be heading up a mid-level Power 5 School (outside the SEC) this time next year. (Looking at you West Virginia)
Well, Rodgers was picked 24th, so he doesn’t even really apply. Philip Rivers and Eli Manning are probably better examples. Rivers elevated Brees’ game for two years and was able to transition immediately to being a franchise QB, while Eli probably learned a lot from Kurt Warner (not to mention he was really bad in…
Not to send you somewhere else —- but Polygon has some pretty good intro guides that stop short of being walkthroughs. And like TES, the Fallout Wikia page is a pretty good companion.
Wait, isn’t the point of a backup to manage a game within the current system if QB1 goes down? Tebow can only be successful if the system is catered to his strengths and (larger) deficiencies. I get the guy has moxy, but he’s not the guy you want replacing Matthew Stafford. The difference in arm strength alone would…
I know Miami was really good in the 80s and again in the early 00s, but the Miami HC job =/= the Ohio State HC job. Even without the sanctions, UM today is probably viewed as a second-tier program playing in an NFL stadium it can’t fill unless the team is in contention for a title. Recruiting, even with a deep talent…
What I don’t get is why the NFL doesn’t just get rid of the eligibility requirement altogether for the draft. There’s only a handful of kids every decade that could feasibly go pro after high school or one or two years in the NCAA anyway (Fournette and Clowney being this generation’s pair of pro-ready high schoolers/…
The whole “so-and-so should sit out” argument completely glosses over the fact that a lot of these kids grew up wanting to play for their colleges as much as or more than they want to play in the NFL (I’m pretty sure Fournette was a junior commit and lifelong tigers fan, for instance).
If there’s an argument for kids…
CALL IT BACK
I WISH this was like WYTS for college.
Didn’t they shut down their football program after Matty Ice’s senior year?
Sort of like the adrenaline rush I can only assume that one dumbass Clem fan got when he smashed Howard's Rock
Va Tech in 2010
There's nothing cool about watching taters roll down a hill.
It really was a snap judgement.
A pass there wouldn’t have been a bad call, but idk why they went for slants, when you’ve got so much coverage over the middle in a redzone situation. A quick out, fade or flat route would have all been safer options with that field position. .
