Not to go all conspiracy theory or anything...but the $2b that Sterling made had to at least color his actions post-email in there somewhere. Especially if he was having trouble even giving away tickets.

I think it's the other way around. The NFL started adapting its game for more athletic QBs and TEs by integrating elements of the spread and West Coast offenses from college teams. A lot of these kids who did well early on ran the spread or West Coast all the time (see Cam Newton, RG3 for spread, Andrew Luck, Sanchez…
I think theres a couple things going on. First, coaches are more willing these days to dumb down the playbook and add spread formations to help their young, athletic QBs transition more easily. Second, I think that *some* execs are starting to learn that a first-round QB won't solve your problems if you've got glaring…
I think the thing all of you are missing about his Starbucks comment is that this sort of thing had happened so often with local NRA chapters and white gun-toting men (even at the Starbucks in Newtown, CT, in a particularly distasteful instance) that the chain had to outright put a ban on weapons.
There wasn't…
I dunno, PBR — at least until it got hipsterified — was always priced a half-step below B/M/C, more in line with Rolling Rock and High Life and there was a decent chance that if you gave it to someone, they'd turn their nose up at it. Yuengling is like the Dave Matthews Band of beers — it's pretty unoffensive, and if…
if you like euro pilsners like Stella, you might like Pilsner Urquell, Bitburger or any of the other German varieties better. If you're drinking US beer, try Landshark, Brooklyn Pilsner or Laguna Pils for starters. That said. If you like Stella, tell everybody else to fuck off
They're completely different beers though. If you're mainly into ipa you're not gonna like Fat Tire and should prolly get Ranger instead. If you drink ambers and Browns, it's pretty solid.
They're not sour like you'd think, but yeah, I don't even think beer snobs like them. Plus the IPA thing has gone way the hell too far. People need to innovate off of amber ales like Newcastle and Fat Tire. Everybody likes Newcastle and Fat Tire
I'm surprised Brooklyn's dog of choice wasn't French Bulldogs or pugs. I see like 100 of them a day.
I live in ny and am inclined to agree. The food here can be good, but the best food city in America IMO is Charleston, SC. I've never had a bad meal there, and it definitely has its own unique cuisine
I mean, yeah, Ripken had the adoration, but IMO the guy did more to earn it (not to take away anything from Jeter). He won 2 MVPs and a ring on worse teams and is probably the only player of the last 40 years who you would put in all-decade teams in two separate decades (in the 80s, you could argue he was like the…
I was thinking about that, too. Statistically, he's almost indisputably a HOFer, but like Magary alluded, he wouldn't get the same reverence if he spent his career with any other team except maybe the Bosox, and people quit talking about him like he's Ripken.
Yeah Jeetz! Yeah Jeetz!
The SI essay, if you believe LeBron, stopped just short of saying he is retiring a Cav.
(of course, it's hard to tell how sincere the dude is)
at the end of his phrase, he would laugh his "meh meh meh" laugh and the subtitles would trail off with a very slow and ominous ". . . "
I am in the same boat. I've still got an extensive Xbox 360 backlog and will be getting a PS4 before even considering a Wii U. For a console I will be buying exclusively for Zelda (and maybe a new Metroid, if that ever happens), it doesn't make sense to spend more than about $150, especially when I know I already…
they feel like they are but you're always on a set path, especially in the 3D games. Its not like Skyrim where you can say "fuck it, I'm going to go to this city at the edge of the map because I do what you want. In Zelda, game designers intentionally put a wall on that city so you can't get in until you get a…
Ah my bad. Wrong reply button.
I don't think story and sandbox/open world are mutually exclusive. Look at Red Dead Redemption or GTA IV. Both had great stories. Another example would be LA Noire, even though I thought it went off the rails a bit in the finale.
Not loading, specific roadblocks to progress. None of the Zelda games have been open world like the Elder Scrolls or GTA (meaning you can go anywhere whenever you want), but they've all done a really good job of making you feel as though it were open world, even though you're being set on a certain path.
That right…
