I don't know about other actors, but Jolie has spoken in interviews to explain that the only reason they used her daughter in this movie was because the other child actors they called in were terrified of her in her Maleficent costume/makeup and couldn't do the scene. So they ended up using her kid, because she knew

"I am surprised she tried negotiating through email"

I question the decision to negotiate via email. Negotiations can be delicate, and if you do so in writing, something that seems like a reasonable request can read like list of demands (even with the caveat that it's open for discussion). This should have been done face to face or over the phone so both parties have a

They are in the image, but very faint. And it looks like she only got them on the one side. Lucky her! ;)

She has admitted that this image was retouched. Not to change her body, but to adjust her skin tone, lighting, etc.

We showed this movie to our son recently. I didn't remember how horribly racist it was. It's kind of shocking to rewatch things from when you were a kid and realize that you hadn't a clue what you were really wacthing...

They aren't referring to her physical appearance, rather her styling (long hair, almost black lips, fingertips dipped in black ink) and overall vibe (when she performs, she make rather jerky motions with her body—like witchy pop 'n lockin').

Very restrained. ;) I often wonder if the Jezebel writers ever get sick of having to constantly having to work up so much OUTRAGE over inconsequential crap. It really must be exhausting.

Yeah, that's a little strange. The timeline is unclear. I can see that if she was asking someone at customer care for a manager's name that they wouldn't give it. But I would think that if she was in the store asking for a manager's name, they would give it to her. The whole thing is kind of weird. I'm not sure what

I said this elsewhere, but that info isn't really confidential, per se. I suspect the manager who spoke with the reporter was backtracking because field associates (anyone who works in the stores) are not to speak with the media. They are to address any media inquiries to corporate, so she broke company policy. This

As with most big retailers, I imagine that individual store managers are not supposed to speak with media, period (no pun intended). It's likely that she was supposed to direct the inquiry to corporate relations, but she did speak with the reporter, so now she's doing some CYA.

That was my response. But based on a trailer I saw, this is, in fact, his costuming this season. Notice his metal hand? Westeros: home of advanced prosthetics!

He teaches Sunday school at my church. For real.

I would think they look miserable...they are dead and taxidermied.

Many people get a bunch of tickets, just not in the front row. Remember someone giving a shout out to his mom, and then panned to the back of the theater and there she was? And Jarod Leto sat with his mom, but his bro was also there.

That was a really great read. Thank you for sharing!

I'm pretty sure she covered the "staying relevant" thing throughout 2013 by staging a very successful world tour.

Or maybe people trying to make a living off of a creative product? Like my husband, for whom illegally downloaded books are money out of his pocket...

I agree. When they put the camera on her as Blanchett finished up, she was welling up and she looked truly upset. I am curious about this as well—was it the comment? Or was she sad for not winning when Gravity won everything else?

Yeah, it really comes down to whatever works for each person/family.
