Maybe they had to invite everyone from their church? That sounds about right...

Why not? It could become a brand, like Nightline or whatever, with a new "conservative pundit" as host. There's clearly appetite for it, just not sure who could do it with quite the panache Colbert did...ETA, wait, John Oliver?

I haven't read that the baby had chronic salmonella infections—link? The cleanliness of a boat matters so much less to me than taking a toddler and infant on one's first trans-ocean sail in a small-ish craft.

Actually, the sick kid was the issue—she needed medical care and the steering on the boat was not working. The boat was scuttled—intentionally sunk—by the Coast Guard once the rescue was complete (this is standard, so there isn't a random vessel adrift causing problems for others on the open ocean). The writer should

I think they are including the time spent preparing as part of the journey...

The boat was scuttled by the Coast Guard—meaning it was purposely sunk after the rescue was completed so there wasn't a 39-foot sailboat adrift on the open ocean (potetntially running into things, etc.). But the Coast Guard was called to rescue the family because the baby was sick and the steering on the boat failed.

Boat performance was part of the problem: they lost the ability to steer so were completely adrift. The boat wasn't sinking—it sank because the Coast Guard scuttled it.

Though I wouldn't have done what they did, I think it's important to note that the baby had recovered enough before they initially left to be cleared by her doc to do so. So, it's not like the parents were all "who cares if my kid is sick, let's go!"

Technically, Dr. Mindy Lahiri wrote the piece. With the exception of the rape joke, which I just hate, it was a funny ep—great cameo by Anna Gunn.

So, this stuff is basically trying to replicate what his fiancee, Behati Prinsloo (who is Namibian, which might explain the Africa tee), wears in her off-duty-supermodel life: graphic tees, ugly overalls, tiny shorts, etc.

I worked with Laura McEwen in a former life as a magazine editor. She was a horrible person—I always felt she would have been happy to do something like sell her child if it would guarantee an ad sale. Not gonna lie: I was pleased as punch to see she got the boot from Self.

I met her once, years ago, and she was the nicest, most lovely woman. Sometimes I wondered if it was an act, but I have a friend who is in the PR biz and he said she is widely regarded by people who have worked with her as an awesome person.

She did gain 20 pounds—she now weights 125.

Minor detail, but she weighs 125 pounds now (both linked articles state that).

Seeing these pics of Lady Gaga made me think of how Dita Von Teese dresses as a "normal girl" for Halloween every year: blond hair, plain makeup, jeans and a t-shirt. So subversive...

Thanks for clarifying. You should post that info as a reply to Rebecca (the author) so she can make a correction to the post.

Did she not want kids? Or could she not have kids? I thought it was the latter...

Are you being facetious? Because everyone, everywhere is saying how horrible the ending was...

I saw this on Broadway with the original cast. It was good, but I was so incredibly distracted by Groff's oratory technique—which involved A LOT of projectile spitting shown off to spectacular effect by the stage lighting—that I couldn't really focus for a lot of the show. I felt for the people sitting in the first

Did he? That's kind of amazing. Agreed—Tyrion is the most likable character by far.
