No, I don’t perform them. I work with an Ayurvedic gynecologist who does, usually free of charge as part of her initial visit, and she is also willing to barter her services, and offers them at attainable cost, believing everyone should get quality care.

Nope. (:

Sarcasm noted. I’m sharing anecdotal information as well as my midwife education on the fly. If you’re not into alternative medicine, then this isn’t for you. If you do not have a vagina, this isn’t for you.

Agree to disagree about owning a vagina and hypothesizing about ancient Mayan rituals that have been practiced for centuries on said vaginas.

Yoni eggs come in other materials, not just jade.

I was using it as a visual on how clinicians use steam to prep the face for deeper cleaning.

Shit it is? Damn I wish I had that information BEFORE I posted.

Yes, I was using it for visual of water vs steam and how clinicians use steam first for deep cleansing.

Yeah because I don’t have this shit written up on my phone.

All I’m doing is sharing my PERSONAL experience with vaginal steams, the Mayan and Ayurvedic midwife and birthing education I have, and the information I have about why they work. I have seen the benefits personally and professionally. Take it for what it is. I’m saying it works. Period.

Water isn’t steam. Simple as that. Washing your face with water gets it clean, but a facial with a steam opens your pores and gets in deeper. Liken it to that.

Because GOOP blabbed about it like she invented it, and no one believes her advice for shit? I mean, this is why I am commenting so much, just to counter that!!

I steam at home with my own herb blends. And honestly, unless you’re sitting in that steam room spread eagle over the steam vent, it will not work the same way.

Sure think what you want, and take care of your vagina as you want. I’m sharing what my ayurvedic/Mayan midwife and birthing education taught me, and the experience I’ve had working and shadowing an Ayurvedic gynocolgist for over four years now.

I’m a HUGE fan of sitz baths, epsom baths, detox baths. However your vagina simply doesn’t open the way it would in a bath; and the water you’re soaking in doesn’t have the same properties for the inner walls of your vagina than the steam does. Still equally relaxing, but it just hits different parts of your anatomy

Googling Yoni Steam benefits will yield better, less Goopy result

I work with pregnant and postpartum women and the best way to tighten those muscles for birth or after birth is by developing an (eventual) deep squatting habit (picture going to the bathroom while camping) to create the posterior pull on the sacrum and balance the work of the pelvic floor.

There is a chair with hole that looks similar to a toilet, and you put the bucket of herbs underneath, put on some relaxing music, disrobe from the waist down and the just sit open and let the steam do its job. The steam enters the vagina and it absorbed through the tissues, which then enters the bloodstream and

I wish there wasn’t so much hate for vag steams! They can be INCREDIBLY beneficial for women with endometriosis, pms, PMDD and those who suffer painful heavy periods.

Anything you insert in your vagina can risk bacteria if you don’t clean and store it properly. No more so than sex toy safety.
