I've been borrowing my girlfriend's Paperwhite for months now until the next gen Kindle came out to buy for myself. We figured it had to come out soon, eventually. Now that I'm reading this, I'm torn on buying this or a paperwhite for myself.

The MacBook Air 2011 and Mac Mini 2011 both have the necessary Bluetooth 4.0 hardware for this, BUT Apple has decided to blacklist them anyway! For no reason other than because they want to arbitrarily make the minimum 2012 and up across the board. VERY disappointing.

Strange. I have a Mac Mini 2011. Under the system report it says my LMP version is 0x6, and bluetooth low energy is supported. But this same page also says handoff is not supported. What, why?? :(
