I'm sure the Kinect being black has more to do with it blending in with the bezels of your black tv/monitor. I haven't seen many white televisions these days.

Before enabling this option in the menu, were you only getting sounds from two speakers (2.1 instead of 5.1)?
Or were all speakers working, but the rears were just mirroring sound from the front receivers?

Too true. I always found it weird that Microsoft seemed to just do their own thing, focus on their own stuff at each conference. Meanwhile, Sony was always very reactionary, always responding to what Microsoft said or did. Never really seemed to be about itself. Very weird to see.

I understand they can be isolated incidents, but the IGN story (featured on their front page) says theirs was defective, they mentioned Kotaku getting a defective unit, and they mentioned 2 Taco Bell winners who got their console early, two of those winner consoles defective as well. That is just scary.
