The car-windows thing doesn't work on my car, either. 2011 Nissan Versa, just got it a couple weeks ago.

It shouldn't matter when you authenticate... unless that costs money, too. Just look it up on Amazon and authorize it. You don't even need to download it within the free period. Just "buy" it with one-click, and download it whenever. I'm not gonna bother with it until I factory-reset my phone on Tuesday anyway.

Agreed. I'm an aspiring amateur chef, and once I discovered marinades (same thing if you're making a dressing from vinegar, water, and oil), it was ON. Once, the only spice I used was a basic "Cajun seasoning" and that made for some wicked Cajun chicken. We keep a pretty diverse spice rack (nothing exotic, though) and

@MindedOne: Put the taskbar on the left or right? ;)

Sorry Whitson, guess I should have searched first. I guess I could have meant that, since software information changes so often, an updated guide (since LH remakes its guides every so often anyway) would be great... but it's not what I said. So, my bad. :/

Anyone have the XBMC Remote (the official one) for Android? It only recognizes some of my movies, and 2 of my shows, and for some reason it thinks I have ALF, which I do not. How can I force a re-scan, or edit the metadata manually?

Cluttered Taskbar almost stopped being an issue with Windows 7. The issue was resolved completely when I got a widescreen monitor that does 1920x1080. Once I threw an address bar up there just to use the space. This might be good for folks on netbooks or still using 15" square monitors... But for those of us with 21st

Thanks! I always wondered what caret browsing was!

Assuming, not only that "they want you bad enough" but that the job itself rates a signing bonus to start with. Those of us who aren't all-star athletes or rocket scientists, or brain surgeons, shouldn't have to worry about this. In any case, a regular working Joe will probably never need this advice. But, I suppose

Yes, I had done that. And if I lowered it below 100, it likely would have hurt my speeds more. It's not a solution if I only get dial-up speeds on my DSL.

The player looks nice, but I can't "get past the purple". Ever since Yahoo went from red to purple, it's always conveyed the "Google for women" message. Or perhaps MSN for women? Purple also represents royalty, but Yahoo isn't regal, it's trashy. I mean yahoo.com, not this app. (Not that MSN isn't...)

What if somebody has the same name as you? I used it to Google my name, and found a guy on Twitter using my name, but it doesn't appear to be malicious. I found my brother's name as an author for an XBMC plugin, and when I asked him about it (since he uses it, and recommended it to me) he said he knew nothing about

It didn't. I don't mean the seeders, I mean the global connections. By default it was 500, I had to get it down to around 100 to make it not crash my computer (that was the issue, it would just lock up Windows, XP or 7). I'm on 1.5MBit DSL, which means at best, I can download at around 180KB/sec, but with 100

This assumes your carrier allows data while connected to voice. Not all do. Unless I am missing something?

No, it's not... most of the daily free apps from Amazon Appstore are complete garbage. But, every day, starting at midnight (GMT -8, or California time) they offer a new app for free. Assuming you have their Appstore app, which must be sideloaded, since Google doesn't support it. In the first week alone, they had

Well, obscure, non-RIAA music should be fine. Maybe I shouldn't have deleted my Google Music invitation... but then again, I don't want to pay down the road. I'll probably go with Amazon's free 5GB, and just upload non-American stuff the RIAA has no jurisdiction over. Like Nightwish from Finland and Yuki Kajiura from

"That's one of the reasons that the NTSB reports that texting while driving is the functional equivalent of driving with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit."

It's about time. Microsoft makes webcams, and the Kinect sensor is sort of an evolution of that, in one sense. The Kinect, especially at its price, cannot be limited to gaming alone, or to the Xbox 360 alone. The controllers will work on your PC if they are wired, and this includes all the Rockband and Guitar Hero

You want a physical keyboard. Soft keyboards are mostly a joke and they all aim to make having a soft keyboard bearable. If the phone is pretty powerful, get into the Swype beta, it's free for now. FlexT9 is the best keyboard I've used for the swipe gimmick and it works on lesser phones. For others, YMMV. If you can
