I like how people don't want their apps to have certain permissions, but if they didn't have those permissions, the app wouldn't be able to do what it advertises.

Haven't you guys heard that, to avoid MP3.com's fate, Google is giving the RIAA audit rights over their cloud storage? Probably not when it's in beta, but when it hits mainstream, any artist or band whose music their label doesn't want you to have access to... they're gonna delete it all from everybody's library.
I follow Lifehacker on Facebook because I stay on top of it more than Twitter.
It should do you one better. There is a Labs for Gmail (the desktop one) that adds Docs support to Gmail... though I imagine it's only for Docs links. Still, given your example, while downloading the ppt to your SD card should still be an option, the one I imagine you would want should be "transload this to Google…
1. Google Docs App. The current Android app is fine for managing documents; in fact, it is very nice. However, editing documents (especially spreadsheets) leaves a lot to be desired. And once, I edited a document on my phone, and it never pushed the update back to Google.
@theimaginaryage: Samsung Acclaim, and the browser I used that it wouldn't display the website on was Dolphin Browser, the latest version — I recently updated it, anyway.
Don't bother installing this if you paid less than $300 for your phone. Read on for all the trouble it caused on a phone that was hasn't even been out a year (but was entry-level when it came out).
Come on. That's a late-night infomercial item at best. Wait, call now and we'll double your order! Not only do you get FOUR for $19.99, CALL NOW and we'll DOUBLE your order, just pay the shipping and handling! (Which itself, is about 3-5 times what it actually costs to ship — anyone else ever notice that?)
I know most of this, but what I don't know is how to get stuff to favor Monitor #2 (my TV). I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium and my actual computer monitor (23") does 1920x1080, but my 32" TV only does 1280x720. I have my two "monitors" mirroring because video programs like VLC can be moved to the TV, but when I…
I used to love QT's apps when I had XP. Never thought to try them in Win7.
Eh? I would have thought Netscape —> Firefox would have been easier because, as you say, they are based on similar code. I was actually an IE user until Firefox 0.91, when I switched. IE 6, too. My needs were basic and I didn't need anything complicated. I didn't even care for tabs at first (and still use, on average,…
I wasn't impressed when this came out first as an Amazon Android Appstore exclusive a month or so ago, and I'm no more impressed now. I don't know about iOS, but it's dead simple to Google from Android — many ROMs include a Google search box right on one of the homepages. JFGI!
Am I alone in wanting to like Chrome, but keep going back to Firefox? I kept saying Firefox was better because of the extensions (mostly, Adblock Plus), but now that Chrome has them as well, what's my excuse? Well, it all just feels so alien. I'm always hunting around for what I want to do, and I can't always find it…
That... doesn't sound like it would work... yet it does. Wow. I just did it. Neat!
So in other words, I can spend hundreds of dollars on a Bose system, and then have to re-rip all my music to FLAC... or I can keep my cheapo system ($200 I paid for a Philips 5.1 system my TV/Xbox/PC all share) and my existing music still sounds great? Deal! (As in, I accept the deal of saving money and time.)
My impression of his post was that somebody should be able to whip something up that does it for free.
Okay. I never learned that. CBR 320 for me now. The enthusiasts will always probably have fancy ways of cutting up the sub-320 range, but in my experience nothing beats 320 for MP3; those lossier bitrates/command-line switches just give you a smaller file with better quality per bit... or something like that. ;)
Second hard drive with all our (wife and I's) media files and documents. Ninite for most apps we use daily, plus some. PortableApps on the second hard drive for what Ninite doesn't cover. An "installer repository" for what Ninite and PortableApps don't cover (drivers, etc.).
Facebook, but mainly because I have family across the country (United States) and friends around the world. It really is the best option — many of us don't care enough to pick up the phone, but we will do Facebook.
No love for —alt-preset-standard and its variants? Haha... I recall when that mattered.
