Very Dangerous Over Short Distances
darklingdawns

Thanks. They’re definitely a handful and a half, and while I can’t imagine, as a parent myself, going that long between visits, I also can’t say that I’m sorry about it. You’re right about getting used to the general non-listening and acceptance, but I think the hurt part of it never really goes away. But like you

If you have access to any kind of streaming service (or download ability) I can HIGHLY recommend The Great British Bakeoff as a great show for surgical recovery. The stakes are low, the voices are soothing, and overall it just kind of washes over you, so you can fade in and out at will. I think I went through the

The Parentals are moving to FL (yay!) and so have decided they want to have lunch with us (less yay) on Monday (FUCK) And since they know we just bought a car, we have no excuse not to go, since we’ll be able to meet them at the location they’ve chosen (not far, only about a 45 min drive) We haven’t seen them in five

We bought a car!

This, exactly. We just got a 2018 Kia Forte that has 29k miles - didn’t even think of looking at the new cars, since we got everything we wanted this way without breaking the bank.

Disability is more than a wheelchair or crutches. Thanks to asthma, along with a hip and back that don’t want to work right, I can only walk short distances, but to look at me, you can’t tell that. So to your eyes, I’m one of those ‘perfectly able people’, but if I try to park out where there are other spots and walk

I’m with you (although for me it’s Carmex) but I figured I’d give this a whirl, since my BIPAP leaves me with cracked, dry lips a lot. But I found it on Walmart’s web site for about $15, eligible for free shipping, as well.

How I’d love to do just that, but unfortunately, with us only putting a down payment on a loan (that requires final paperwork from the bank) and it being a seller’s market right now due to the used car shortage, I have a feeling it would tend to backfire more than work at the moment.

Kidlet’s much better at the particular walk out than I am - he has NO problem being rude and telling a dealer just where to stick it. We’re heading out today to check out some online prospects, and he’s already declared that he has no intention of spending more than 3 hours on 5 dealerships.

The mention of no Kia had me going ‘eep!’ and racing for Google, since we have a majority of Kias on my possibilities list, based on the online browsing for what’s available around here. Luckily, seems like in this area, the big car theft targets are older Toyotas, Fords, and pickups. Still, I’ll definitely be

Wow, that’s awesome that your mom got that kind of deal! I’m like you - this is my first car that I’m buying from a dealership with a loan. My previous car was an outright sale for around $1200 from a friend of my dad’s, and it was a very nice workhorse for several years before it broke down and I spent a good 15

Kidlet and I are heading out to check out some today, which helps, since he’s WAY more comfortable telling salesmen where to stick it than I am. (And his patience with bullshit is far shorter, too) I do love the pre=approval, since it let me shut one guy down a couple days ago - he heard 2.49% and immediately went

Jesus, sounds like you’re having just about as much fun as I am! The dealership with the Christian music had a car that I saw that was pretty damn perfect, and I went in only to discover it had been sold JUST before closing the day before. Talk about a day late and a dollar short! I don’t blame you for not playing

There’s a Thrifty dealership in town that has a couple cars I liked on their website. Unfortunately, they’re closed today, but some of the others we’ll be seeing are the same models, so I’ll know soon if those would fit our needs. Then I can either strike that off my list or head over there tomorrow.

Thanks - I do like a Toyota as well, but they’re pretty sparse in my market. We’re heading out today to check out some of the cars I’ve found online, maybe take some test drives, and hopefully there’ll be some VIN numbers to give the bank tomorrow morning.

Yikes, talk about creepy! I hope you contacted the dealership and let them know just what he was up to with your info.

I have discovered a whole new level of hell this week, and it’s called Used Car Dealerships and the Salesmen Therein. Kidlet and I decided we wanted to get our own car, and the financing part went through, no problem - we got preapproved within a day of putting in the loan application, with a 2.49% APR, no less. But

I’m so sorry for your loss - no paws around the household would definitely take some getting used to. And I agree with you about the job. My own boy’s in training for service, retrieving objects and bracing to help me stand, and seeing his tail wagwagwag when he has a task to do always makes me smile.

German Shepherd, actually. He looks exactly like a Malinois, since he’s gold all over, without the black saddle. He’s a total sweetheart - I’m absolutely spoiled, can’t imagine not having a Shepherd from now on!

Look who passed his test! Who else has good news to share from this week?
