We bought a car!

This, exactly. We just got a 2018 Kia Forte that has 29k miles - didn’t even think of looking at the new cars, since we got everything we wanted this way without breaking the bank.

Disability is more than a wheelchair or crutches. Thanks to asthma, along with a hip and back that don’t want to work right, I can only walk short distances, but to look at me, you can’t tell that. I’m with you (although for me it’s Carmex) but I figured I’d give this a whirl, since my BIPAP leaves me with cracked, dry lips a lot. But I found it on Walmart’s web site for about $15, eligible for free shipping, as well.

How I’d love to do just that, but unfortunately, with us only putting a down payment on a loan (that requires final paperwork from the bank) and it being a seller’s market right now due to the used car shortage, I have a feeling it would tend to backfire more than work at the moment. 

Kidlet’s much better at the particular walk out than I am - he has NO problem being rude and telling a dealer just where to stick it. We’re heading out today to check out some online prospects, and he’s already declared that he has no intention of spending more than 3 hours on 5 dealerships.

There’s a Thrifty dealership in town that has a couple cars I liked on their website. Unfortunately, they’re closed today, but some of the others we’ll be seeing are the same models, so I’ll know soon if those would fit our needs. Then I can either strike that off my list or head over there tomorrow.

I’m so sorry for your loss - no paws around the household would definitely take some getting used to. And I agree with you about the job. My own boy’s in training for service, retrieving objects and bracing to help me stand, and seeing his tail wagwagwag when he has a task to do always makes me smile.
