For what it’s worth, once I got mine home, I did the update immediately, and I can’t get the Joycon to lose sync, even when covered or behind my back. I’m wondering if this has something to do with wireless interference combined with obstruction?

I salute you early adopters. Thank you for dealing with shit like this so that in a couple of years I can walk into Walmart and buy a Switch with the 4 games I’ll ever care about and have everything work properly.

Easy fix...don’t buy version 1 products. When will people learn.

At first, I was waiting until christmas to buy the Switch because it didn’t have enough games that interest me at launch. But with an issue like that, it only gives me a good reason to wait for the next iteration of the console. I mean, every other consoles with a wireless controller (ps3 and ps4 at least), you can be

I got my switch last night but haven’t turned it on yet. Now I’m kinda nervous. This is the first console I’ve gotten on launch day. I guess this is why I don’t early adopt...

If someone has pain in their arm while waving it about then the doctor should probably check them out, yknow instead of sending them home with possible fractures/infections/cancer in their bones.

Well, for one thing, Nintendo don’t particularly price their stuff in the “little stuff” range.

So are we thinking that Nintendo is not sending out a response for comment because they are trying to minimize bad PR? This is pretty shitty for anyone experiencing this at launch.

Then, there’s the Nintendo fans who’d buy it even both Joy-Cons had connectivity issues, the screen was actually just a mirror, and Samsung was in charge of the battery supply

Yeah little stuff. Do you have to sit 3 feet away from your XBox One/360 or PS3/PS4 or worry about people walking in front of the screen causing a mid game disconnect? No. It’s 2017, a wireless controller shouldn’t need any kind of special worries like this.

And $90 for a freaking dock.

Little things like expensive home electronics not working properly. You shouldn’t lose connection because somebody walks in front of you...

Rushed console lacking even basic features expected of a modern entertainment device suffering from hardware problems on launch day?

If a person is standing between my controller and my tv, its most likely my wife.

Hmm... that DigitalFoundry chart seems to indicate that there are no issues if you’re playing less than two meters away from the Switch, so it probably won’t be a problem for me.

This is really starting to sound like a hardware issue.

Rushed production cycle I’m guessing.

Lol, they charge $80 for extra Joy-Cons, and another $30 for a charging cradle.

Given the varying levels of functionality in all these reports, it sounds like it might be a manufacturing defect. I’m hoping that at worst, replacing the JoyCons with new ones from later-produced batches will resolve it.

Can’t help but feel this is going to hurt their rep, how did this not show up in testing??
