So much agreed man. All my friends are super hype, so I come across as the bitter old man who hates the switch on its principle.

Well, it seems that to truly gauge a Zelda game you have to come back after a couple months. That’s when you’ll be out of the Zelda/New Console Distortion Field and you can see if sentiment turned. I mean, Skyward Sword was getting 9s and 10s too...
yeah i mean, he’s wearing blue this time.
Hi Stephen, thanks for your article and subsequent feedback. I’m really concerned about the controller syncing issue. Nintendo is known in recent years for making...well, odd hardware choices in terms of specs, but the actual physical construction quality is usually beyond reproach, which makes this particular issue…
Exactly. They screwed themselves from the start with this gimmick. I’m all for innovation, but Nintendo is now obsessed with gimmicks. Making a console is simple. Make a system you hook up to a TV and include two controllers. Games should come first. The Wii U proved that gimmicks don’t work anymore. Nintendo, stop…
I just worry about the whole “console experience on the go” thing. If people start viewing it as a portable rather than a home console, things will likely go the way of the Vita. Getting that console fidelity is expensive. People that typically buy portables like things to be cheap. Paying $50-60 for a portable Vita…
We’re gonna party like it’s 2007! Honestly, Nintendo seems like that cheap old man who doesn’t wanna spend money. But grandpa you can use gamertags. Bah! Friend codes are where it’s at. Grandpa, they now have terabytes for storage. Bah! Just use an SD Card. Grandpa the games are huge files. Bah!
At this point I can’t…
I’d like to know how well Zelda Wii U performs. There are already reports that Zelda Switch has some minor performance issues in TV mode.
Well the friend code thing is really, really stupid.
Because Nintendo held the special edition of Breath of the Wild as Switch exclusive?
All of this looks pretty terrible honestly...
Waiting till the fall, at the earliest. I REALLY want to see what that 2d Square-Enix RPG is all about — Project Octane, or whatever. But other then that, Zelda is the only reason I can see people playing this, and the Wii-U version isn’t that much different. I’ll waaaaaaaaaaait
Exactly this. Joy con issues, friend codes, an untested paid online service. Outside of Zelda there’s no reason to get a switch. It’s better to wait until the joy con issue is ironed out, more info is available on their online services, and more games come out to make the $300 purchase worth it.
I feel the same way. I’m just not seeing the hype here.
So a dude with more money than most people see in their lives chose to take advantage of economically-disadvantaged individuals for the sake of some anti-Semitic “humor,” and is now surprised that there are consequences that go with that kind of behavior.
Got it.
Having read some of the comments on the previous article…
maybe because i watch alot of anime with subs but i dont find it that hard to hear the emotion behind a line of japanese dialog if the actor is good. acquired taste i guess.
You mean it ignores your reality because the only supposed patterns you think exist are only based on what you have seen. Seriously, how many fandoms have you been a part of or whose discussions you have had access to? Have you been on forums for fans on specific artists when the topic of influences pop up(and I am…
I think it happens whenever a fanbase gets its head too far up its own ass and gets too possessive of the media. It happens with people who are into indie music and think some pop band ripped something off or made it too mainstream. Seems like the video game crowd and comic book crowd just tend to be super possessive…
