I’d argue that Jimmy took care of Chuck more out of a sense of duty and obligation than love, saddled by guilt and Chuck’s never-ending judgement and disrespect. The minute that albatross was cut from his neck, the real Jimmy reemerged.

They definitely should have hired a CRIMINAL engineer. At least he would have understood the stakes and not have been in denial about the character of the people he worked for.

So, who else flashed back to Walt’s call to Skyler in Ozymandias during Werner’s call to his wife?

She was definitely duped like the rest of us. I’d like to say I saw through it, but the reality it I even teared up a little myself. It was Slippin’ Jimmy’s finest moment. I didn’t know it was total bullshit until he started bragging in the hallway.

I thought she fell for the con too. I saw her expression even as one of relief as Jimmy was finally getting all of the grief she thought he had all season.

the exchange between jimmy and kim on the top of the parking lot. just fucking incredible acting by both people.

He should at least have yelled how much he likes beer a few times.

Careful, John Wick is gonna show up.

Jimmy, you are always DOWN! Out of Kim’s mouth, that was even more devastating than Chuck telling Jimmy he simply wasn’t very important to him. These emotional hits must take their toil on the psyche like the damage of repeated concussions.

Yeah, but that happened in 2006 so clearly Malvo stole the idea from Kim & Jimmy.

Jimmy using the term ‘Communion’ will trigger the DA to do some digging and she’ll realize the scam. Eventually Jimmy will become Saul to save Kim. Kim changes her identity and runs. Cinnabon Jimmy is looking for her.

This show has zero narrative thrust now that Chuck is gone. This season has been so meandering, and I have no clue what it’s all building up to. Breaking Bad always had momentum, while never neglecting character development. Better Call Saul is good, but only a true hipster could say it’s better than Breaking Bad.

Last season is when I thought BCS finally breached Breaking Bad territory. That run of episodes just floored me. But I confess a lot of that had to do with the battle against Chuck, and I really do miss him this year.

And Vince is directing. Back the fuck up.

Honestly I think this season of Better Call Saul has more stood out, unfortunately, for its slower pacing, like they lost the scenes where Chuck and Howard did things and replaced them with... nothing. A lot of times this season I find myself frustrated that the show is intentionally withholding information or not

Kim Wexler at the end of this episode be all like:

I completely agree. On a related note, Chuck has left a hole. The Chuck vs Jimmy story was original and fascinating, what has come after his demise hasn’t filled his shoes.

Yeah, I need daylight and fresh air in my face. That would have been my first question to Mike, “can I go outside and how often?”

Wow, Fabian nails down the details of what it’s like to work under the searing pressure of a “consulting” firm “rightsizing” a company. The look of being overwhelmed with the burden of doing not only your job, but probably the work of 2-3 other people, not to mention your own fears of being the next on the chopping

No half measures.
