Leave it to Jalopnik to somehow contrive a headline that makes GM look like the bad guy in this story.

Yeah, uh thats one take. The other is that for the type of work being performed, it is the highest paid in the world. I also love how people rally around worker pay in the auto industry and yet fail to realize that they (A) often make less than a mid-career UAW member, and (B) complain about the prices of new cars!

This more recent strike was one that had me thinking there was an outside influence on the UAW trying to get them to slow GM’s momentum. One of the early reasons for the strike was because they were unhappy with the transition to the EV trucks.

I had a sneaking suspicion that some other manufacturer might have funneled

I’m not sure of that. They seem OK with their labor costs, but not OK with FCA paying less to the same union.

I’m totally behind GM on this one. I hate their cars, but what FCA and the UAW cooked up is dirty, and it’s fucking the workers too. Lock em ALL up.

A competitive advantage of billions of dollars through backhand deals isn’t whining.

But these crooks took a dive to fuck FCA workers out of pay. I hope prison is the safest place for them.

Asked Erik “why?” just minutes ago. There seems to be a tilt against GM, H-D, and a few others these days.

Erik,

Jalopnik Is Back On Its Bullshit Headlines About GM

Each company has their own workplace atmosphere, and when that atmosphere is covering up sexual misconduct and the like... I resign.”

Not everyone has the privilege you do just to resign. Some people stay in shitty jobs because that’s all there is out there.

Her Forbes net worth is over 300 million.

Yup. Be a producer and build up other marginalized voices.

I don’t care how much you hate your job or how “important” you are. I don’t care if other people are supposedly worse. It’s no excuse to be an eternally toxic asshole to your employees.

Okay. I don’t think Ellen is sifting through resumes for interns, and I’m sure she delegates routine hiring and firing decisions, particularly for lower level staffers. But ultimately, she in the position to be the final word on all of that. Complaints about people contributing to a toxic workplace culture, and

People did go to HR, and were shown the door shortly after.

If that workplace has become so toxic their first stop should have been HR not fucking twitter.

The people behind the scenes of Ellen’s show aren’t working in bumblefuck with no unionization or human resources. They’re grown ass people that I’m sure have held other positions before they got hired for the Ellen show. If that workplace has become so toxic their first stop should have been HR not fucking twitter.

I wouldn’t say I’m enjoying it, but don’t you find it mildly amusing?

she’s allegedly “pissed” and reportedly “wants out of the show.”
