This has been particularly noticeable in the science fiction world, where long-ingrained values and habits have become the norm, making it difficult for marginalized groups to get a foothold. That’s changing, but not without significant drama.

There was a time - even just a few years ago - where I would have been a big supporter of this movement. But, frankly, I’ve decided to just let geek community go as one of the things in my life. As things got angrier and meaner across the entire community it got harder - and scarier - to be a woman in those spaces

Never, because that isn’t a thing. But even being less pedantic, you’re going to have to wait at least until the winners aren’t all *incredibly* deserving before crying foul if you hope to be taken seriously.

I feel sorry for you.

That’s kind of a problem with BvS, it has good scenes shoved into a bad story with bad dialogue and go absolutely nowhere. Take the scene where Crazy Steve looks at Robin’s mutilated costume as an example, it’s a powerful scene that’s never brought up again and doesn’t justify Bruce’s erratic change into a homicidal

I like how you complained about spoilers and then uploaded two videos with spoilers in their damn preview frames without any sort of warning. Ass.

I agree with the point, but I hate the joke itself. The “Character says non-PC thing, only to be shown talking about something completely different from what the audience expects” bit is as old as the idea of being PC, and hasn’t gotten any better with time.

“LGBT Issues”

Ahh yes, I loved the brilliant handling of LGBT issues, like when Kanji was implied to be gay, but then it turned out that he wasn’t gay and that he just liked sewing. All he had to do was just grow up.

Or when it seemed like Naoto might have a sort of trans thing going on, only for it to turn out that

If you keep repeating it’s good, maybe you’ll believe yourself.

Oh man, the second I saw this headline I knew I would find this post. Like, this exact post. Because every time there’s an article that so much as hints at the concept of someone who isn’t a white guy appearing in a video game, some insecure gamerbro waddles out of his fedoracave to bring the moldy old “LEL TRIGGERED

Roussey lost me with her really shitty sportsmanship before her bout with Holm. Hard to root for someone’s success who acts like that.

Ronda just needs to stop.

I love how people found out later that it was a hot chick on the inside. And then most of the day you’re in a suit, so you can just hang out and eat donuts

I too hate being nice to my children , and would wish upon them nothing but woe.

It’s called a character arc, look it up some time.

I disagree that they’re getting writing Harley wrong here - this is completely in-line with the best Harley stories, if you allow the character to grow over time.

“I also have it bad so acknowledging the struggles of others who have it bad it annoying.”

“So hey, same problem, different group of people: People who are overweight and do cosplay that doesn’t fit their body. They get a lot of shit hurled at them as well, but I don’t see them starting a #29daysofbodycosplay?”
