Ugh that hurts my heart, but you make a decent point. I work closely with kids too, and you're right- it's all flashes in the pan.

Instead of reading them as an adult, I'd seek out the radio dramas. They're pretty close to the original stories, and this option might be a little more entertaining to a grown person.
"a series of old books that most young readers today haven't heard of"
The first Disney Narnia movie is a stone-cold classic. Great child actors, Liam Neeson lion, wonderful music, striking visuals, and the CGI still holds up over 10 years later.
"DRAMAAAA!!!"
I'm not trying to defend Trump- please don't misunderstand me.
Sure, but to hope for his death just skeeves me out.
That's something I'll admit to never understanding. True, I've never been an actor in a TV show, but I don't get how some actors can just decide to "be done" with a show- especially when their departure is going to disrupt the dynamic of the entire show (ex: Glover, Nina Dobrev, Patrick Dempsey, to name a few- all who…
I don't care where you land on the political spectrum, delighting in another person's death is just ugly.

I think the author is trying to say that Nani and Lilo aren't hamstrung into having to be a part of an existing franchise based on classic, "princess-y" tropes. They're not portrayed as fairytale characters- they're real people.
I really appreciate this article. This movie is wonderful, and it's such a shame it's about to be extra-forgotten so Moana can act like it's the first of its kind. Ugh.
Given that the show has been on for 10 years, it really it strange that we haven't seen more of everyone's family- especially Sheldon's.
We still have yet to meet his brother, Howard's absentee father, Leonard's siblings, Bernadette's siblings that she raised, and we've never seen anyone from Amy's family.
Oh, 8 Simple Rules, we hardly knew ye. I really enjoyed that show.
