I bet that car is now crushed because no one has taken a new photo of the EV1 so we’re stuck with poor resolution photos.

There’s safety reasons for that. The EPA doesn’t want fuel to spill into the water, but the USCG and EU do not want fuel in the bilge.  Safety appears to have won this round.

But anyone who’s been close to a boat or paid attention to boats in a movie will dismiss it as an uninformed fantasy. We’re not talking about visibility angles or color temperature here. If a new car rendering had purple tail lamps Jalopnik collectively would say:

you’d might like Phil Bolger’s “Lily” design that uses a trolling motor.  IIRC the lead acid batteries are on a long screw and can be shifted fore-aft to trim the boat based on passengers.

Agreed. Not having to lug 5 gal gas cans and the nearly unavoidable splash of gas in the water is pretty attractive. But why the fancy lights that aren’t USCG approved? Where’s the red/green/white?

Exactly, he might have to travel to Madison, Milwaukee, or Twin Cities...but they are everywhere here Minneapolis.
