I can’t speak for everybody, but I think it is a joke. I hope people are smart enough to realize that he didn’t play because of sportswriters or Burneko’s satire of them and that they didn’t cause his injury.

At least he isn’t blocking everyone that slightly disagrees with him in this instance. He is the only person I’ve seen actively incite trolls out of nowhere, call out the trolls for engaging with him, and then blocking them because they are trolls.
