I saw Se7en on a first date, back when it came out. Hey, it was a thriller with lovable character actor Morgan Freeman and hunky Brad Pitt - what could possibly go wrong?

Now playing

Great piece about something that’s been bothering me for a while. Especially irritating on shows were there is no cold open, and Netflix slips the opening theme WITHOUT EVEN ASKING.

ALL HAIL THE ALGORITHMS.

It’s a good thing Netflix has good content, because I can’t think of a single thing about their service that doesn’t suck.

How about a cat catching a mouse in your general vicinity? That shit is bonkers.

Forgetting his crazy antics, he’s actually a great actor that could win a ton of awards if he weren’t so outlandish. It’s a shame that he keeps shooting himself in the foot, I really want him to succeed.

To the first bit: clearly deal made with the Devil. Usually when you see no-talent hacks somehow briefly become huge stars it’s just Lucifer’s influence. See also Matthew Lillard and The Proclaimers.

So do all who see such times...

Those Transformers movies did well, as did Indiana Jones, and Hollywood mistook that for people actually liking the kid and wanting to see him in other movies.

If you figure that out, I’m sure its the same reason they’re trying to do it with Miles Teller.

He’s consistently good though. Wish he’d pick better projects.

He’s a good actor. It’s sad his personal troubles took his career down.

I don’t know if one can claim that John MacEnroe was more hated than Jimmy Connors or Nastase.

Hot take: Ben Wyatt is far superior to Jim Halpert.

It’s Kinja’s class system. People who flatter the writers in the first hour get de-greyed and everyone who comes later gets to linger in the grey, unnoticed, for years.

Because some people think it’s fun to post animal dismemberment gifs and the like (think:the VERY WORST THING you can imagine & then double it) here. Do not go into the pending comments on Jez. You WILL regret it. Things are fine here - right now - in pending, but don’t assume that will stay like that.

There was a problem on Jezebel a few years back where MRA trolls were posting a bunch of really horrible pictures. The grays allowed people to better filter out some of that stuff. It ended up filtering out just about everyone.

Is there a chance of making posting a top-level comment not utterly pointless if you don’t get in within a certain time? (i.e., comment sorting, refresh options)

I’m still stuck in the greys, so this may not show up. However: I’ve been reading the AV Club since it was the print-only, “serious” part of the Onion. Like many long-time readers, I’m concerned that folding AVC into the remnants of the Gawkerverse will kill the unique perspective and voice that makes this place so

Any update on when AV Club non-Disqus legacy accounts (such as mine) can be claimed? I wasn’t sure if this was going to be a “sometime in the next couple of days” thing or a “whenever we figure out how to do that” timeline.
