I’m going to guess Corvo’s overhauled his gear in the intervening few years and/or that’s Emily’s mask instead.

“I’m only 225 pounds.”
I was born in DC, and to be honest, whenever I’m back (rarely) DC radio has stopped being funny and started taking on this eerie Orwellian quality.
True story: When I was a teenager, I tried to talk up a girl in the Dallas airport. I mentioned I was from DC, and some drunk Cowboys fan three times my age tried to pick a fight with me.
There’s a reason: A fair chunk of The Whisperer in the Darkness takes place in Brattleboro and Townshend.
You make people eat glass for giggles, people are gonna judge.
True, but Glass Shard Bread is only entertaining when you’re not eating it.
Yeah, I got that vibe too.
Oh God, how do I say this and not sound like a smug dick? OK, deep breath, breathe out.
And stupid! Don’t forget stupid! “HURR DURR THEY CAN FIND RADIOACTIVITY ANYWHERE LET’S PUT A NUKE ON A TRAIN HURR DURR!”
Yes, and as much as I love those movies, admit it; they’re usually the worst of the Showa era. And once they showed Godzilla, they kept showing Godzilla. Although I do appreciate the American take’s attempt to translate boring meetings, ineffectual female “leads” and idiotic military planning across the Pacific. “The…
I lived in Brattleboro for years, so I find this amusing. None of this stuff is made up. The Wells Fountain is real, so is Canal St. and the town played host to any number of... let’s call them “eccentric characters” throughout the years. The “Abbot of Canal Street” is a particularly interesting turn of phrase; Canal…
Personally, I deal with it by A) acknowledging it’s there, B) focusing on the concepts and C) not reading the particularly bad stories in this respect since they put a nasty taste in my mouth anyway. I confess I read more fiction inspired by Lovecraft than Lovecraft himself, these days.
This book is a classic just for the scene with Machine Man and the Celestials. Which I will not ruin here, except to say every last moment of it is richly deserved.
So, wait. I’m the guy who pointed out these characters, and yet, I’m the guy who thinks they don’t count? That’s nice. Reddit is over there.
NOBODY is mentioning that. Also, missing revenue projections isn’t great but it’s not the nightmare the comics press is acting like it is. Both DC and Marvel stay in business by selling toys and having their characters in movies. It’s unlikely this was a total surprise to DC.
So... the current plotlines will wrap up on schedule, then?
Speak for yourself. I’m a long-time reader and I’m happy to see writers try new ideas and experiment with the characters. Besides, define “Post-Crisis continuity.” We talking ‘80s? Zero Hour? Armageddon 2001? Pre-Flashpoint? See the issue?
Stop and consider for a moment that in most movies, the genders of the characters playing out this plot would be reversed.
There is very little I’ve seen from either breed of Puppies that indicates this is the case.
