Um, have you ever traveled outside the Maryland area? In states where you can purchase beer at a grocery store/convenience store/gas station, Natty Light is ALWAYS there, and has been as far back as I can remember (80's).

I would say the main point here is that Oskar Blues would have most likely never come up with that name on their own if the band didn’t exist. Also, they should have at least used an & instead of the ‘N’ that the band uses.  That right there makes it clear that they are referencing the band in the beer’s name.
