Without going into too much detail, my analytics firm tried to warn our clients (based on the models I built) about the MASSIVE risk they were taking based on the shoddy (at best) underwriting of the time on these bonds. It really was a race to the bottom, because investors were so starved…

Its not about illegal as in criminal intent, but the whole reason a trademark exists is to protect the brand and not allow others to profit off of something others have created, and is proprietary in their domain.

I would say the main point here is that Oskar Blues would have most likely never come up with that name on their own if the band didn’t exist. Also, they should have at least used an & instead of the ‘N’ that the band uses.  That right there makes it clear that they are referencing the band in the beer’s name.

Well, if you (like me) can actually recall the product being advertised in that commercial, what you can say is the ad campaign certainly worked. There so many other commercials that I can recall from over the years, but I can only recall the brand for about 1/3 of them.
