I certainly have no legal background at all, but it seems strikingly similar to when teams decline options on player contracts, many times because they obviously want to get “younger at the position” and have sometimes even publicly stated that. I don’t recall any players ever filing an age discrimination lawsuit…

I did as well! Except my bend was in the other direction, and I did it at recess in 4th grade. I actually bent it back sort of into place, because my brain at the time thought “I can’t go into the nurse’s office with it like this, everyone will freak out.” Adrenaline’s a hell of a drug.
