I took two short little road trips this weekend, it was nice to get out for a bit. I chose some nearly abandoned old mining towns as the destinations, which was a fairly smart choice given the almost complete lack of people as opposed to lakes and parks which are full of people barbecuing.

“If your job or your life depends on it, don’t buy it from Harbor Freight.”

I’ve been living in an apartment for a few years now, so my garage setup is at a commercial shop space that’s about 2 minutes away. It’s a decent sized space with a proper lift, high ceilings, 220V power, and is zoned in a “heavy industrial” area so there’s really no restrictions on what I can do. Plus it’s insulated

I mean, I’m not surprised. Those C63's are pretty potent with the 6.2L V8. With a few bolt-on modifications and a good tune to add power + remove the speed limiter, I could see it going that fast.

I guess I just don’t understand the fascination with rotary engines, that’s more of my issue with it.

So, another harebrained 4 rotor swap scheme by the same guy that can’t seem to ever finish his other 4 rotor swap...

I like E39's too (I’ve owned 9 of them!) but that was BMW starting to move in the wrong direction by that point... too many computers, excessive weight, priority on comfort versus road feel, and just numb inputs compared to the E34. They’re both good, just at different things. The E34 is a much purer driving

No surprise, it got uglier. Those headlights are atrocious. Am I surprised? Not really. BMW has been going downhill since the 90's... this is my favorite 5 series (also my 5-series):

E34 was the pinnacle of the 5-series

Sounds better than most Harley engines, honestly. Far less obnoxious, and somehow seems smoother.

I run a BMW shop and do most things myself, but when it comes to exhaust work, alignments, and tire mounting/balancing, I’m more than happy to let somebody else do it. Those are jobs that require specialized tools that take up a bunch of space and cost lots of money, so it just isn’t practical for me to do them (for

Oh no, rich people will have to find something else to do in August 2020... As far as things canceled due to Covid-19, this is the one I feel least bad about. I’m far more annoyed about Bimmerfest getting canceled, because I was actually looking forward to going there with my equally broke friends to chat with other

Dashcam videos saved me from boredom in the 5 years I worked at office jobs that I hated, so there’s that?

I didn’t say all laborers... but plenty of them do fit that. Source: I’ve lived in Phoenix for 6 years. It wasn’t meant as an insult or anything, just something I’ve observed on a day-to-day basis.

I mean, there are still plenty of small trucks doing honest work in the US, you just need to look past the white hillbillies with their lifted bro trucks. Mexicans work the crap out of their Ford Rangers, 90's F-150's, Nissan Frontiers, Toyota Tacomas, etc. It’s not uncommon to see one of those towing a trailer that’s

One of my friends likes to say “an object in motion stays in motion” when referring to old cars. That’s how we all have 200k+ mile BMW’s from the late 80's and early 90's that still run great.

“This surprised me. The Jeep was running with no battery connected!”

... y’all know that Ethanol is a thing, right? Plenty of modern cars can run on E85 with few modifications, and bumping it all the way to 100% Ethanol wouldn’t be too hard. There’s tons of corn out there.

It’s still above $2/gallon at most places in the Phoenix area... would love some of that sub-$2 gas here.

Looks like the ad got edited to remove all that extra stuff. I think the price is a little high, but for around $5k - $6k it’s a good deal. I voted NP because I loved my E32 740i, I just wished it had a stick the whole time I owned it— the auto in them is a bummer. Great AC and super comfortable seats though.
