Why would you base your perspective on having the ability to completely replace it out of pocket should it be totaled or nearly totaled while not covered by an insurance policy? Sure, $50-60k in damage seems like a lot, but again, why the hell does that matter? Who, aside from the obnoxiously stupid person mentioned

You couldn’t afford a GT-R at $50k/yr, but don’t use the foreign exchange student story, it’s just stupid. Crashing your vehicle to the point it requires structural repair or drive-train component replacement is not exactly maintenance.

The car is not the part that makes it a terrifying beast.

I commute on 54 every day. Didn’t pay attention to the lede picture. Read the comments, remembered I’ve had a 718 Boxster S loaner in the past, and just got one again recently. Had to do a quick check to see if I made it on Jalopnik!

3 pedals, drives the right set of wheels from a naturally aspirated engine behind the driver and doesn’t require a 2nd mortgage...to vote CP would require an actual crack pipe.

I’m a bit biased when it comes to Porsche. How could one complain when your tired old 991.1 GT3RS sells for 100% or more of MSRP, enabling you to effortlessly slide into the 991.2 GT3RS, then the same happens again, and boom, now you’re in a GT2RS after spending a few bucks, awaiting the next rocket ship.

I thought he was absolutely insane at first. In retrospect, I should introspect.

Specify the manufacturer next time. Might cut down on some of the incredulous responses. I read your original comment, thought you were absolutely insane, then accidentally missed the MB 3.0 diesel one. I didn’t realize until the Autobahn comment that you weren’t referring to this:

5 letters is the way to go, been calling it Porch the whole time.

If you’re around a group of Porsche enthusiasts and aren’t sure what to say, just call them all Beetles to avoid any excess personal interaction.

You need a new profession.

You’re making the exact assumption that Siconik is talking about.

My 911 has 7 row your own gears, and is Saiy...Racing Yellow. This checks out so far.

I have the same question and the same inkling.

When the Corvette first debuted with a seven-speed manual transmission, the chattering classes cried out “too much!”

Yes indeed. It’s available (sometimes) as a t-shirt from blipshift. Here are the 3 versions I’ve purch blipshift has been kind enough to create.

Give this man a star and get him out of the greys immediately, if not sooner!

Always works for me!

Is the Bentley on the radiator? It looks like it’s centered, but the fact that it’s behind the grille and shot at an angle makes it look off-center. I suppose looking at a different angle would answer that question. Alas, I am too lazy.
