The Batman is an “Elseworlds” label so not part of the main DCU per the new guard.

I think you have hit the truth exactly with “prevent the teams behind those games from making original IP for competitors.”

Also...Harry is queer! Is his music not joyful and queer because he is white? Huh?

100% yes. The near universal outrage and disbelief expressed by fans across the superhero movie spectrum was palpable. Dumping a charismatic and well liked marquee action star as an iconic character has not been well received. Henry Cavill was never the problem in those Snyder movies. He was a bright spot and fans

I am on the same page with you.

It very clearly adds to the joke. The dude is so old his last teen reference is MySpace which the kids were clearly not using in 2007.

Beyonce’s music is 100% threatening to openly racist people, white supremacy, and to people with deep seated unconscious bias against black people. Example: see the controversy around Formation.

It wasn’t sad at all. Adele showed pure respect and awe of Beyonce’s talent and genuinely felt Bey deserved the award. Adele in this situation is the ultimate model of peer respect and demonstrating respect where respect is due. The Grammy’s voters messed up by not awarding Beyonce album of the year for Lemonade.

No way. That joke making the finale cut of the movie had the purpose of highlighting how old, creepy, and inappropriate it is for an adult to hang out with high school kids.

You are exactly right! It is a “hey fellow kids moment” of the movie.

This gave me a nice chuckle. Thank you!

I loved Dune and had no issue with that nomination. It is a very well made film with excellent direction, it is visually stunning, has a coherent script (despite the challenges of the material), and great acting.

Which is a fucking shame. My unpopular opinion is that while Basset is a wonderful actress, if she wins for Black Panther, it will be because the award is being treated as a lifetime achievement rather than because the performance in that particular movie is the most outstanding in the category. Personally, I would

Fucking CODA won Best Picture last year! That was the “popular peoples choice” movie of last year and it is barely memorable. I would argue that Top Gun: Maverick, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and Avatar: Way of the Water, are all far superior films with rewatch potential for years to come. Who is going to be

I think Barry Keoghan was excellent in Banshees but Colin Farrell elevates everything he is in.

You are correct. Best Picture is a crap category because so rarely does the actual best picture win. I genuinely liked Tar but it should not win Best Picture. When I think about the fact that Saving Private Ryan lost to Shakespeare in Love and Brokeback Mountain lost to Crash, I want to scream.

So many Mayfairs, so much family history to remember!

No its not in the first book. The whole Michael/Mona storyline happens in book 2.

I have the same questions. I watched the first episode last night and I can see little hints to the original timeline. For instance, Deirdre’s mother was flapper witch Stella in the 1920s in the book and in the show when they show Deidre out at the party, she is wearing a flapper reminiscent gown. The time periods,

Rice was a deeply erotic writer.
