I agree that it’s equalizing. And although the elites will always find a way, it does encourage more mixing of cultures and classes than is currently the norm. Think of the memories of WWII vets who met people from all over the country during their service.

I was thinking more like the CCC, but sure. If Trump gets elected, I can see him building a pyramid. In fact, hasn’t he done that already?

I think it’s fair if the type of service you do is by choice. It’s just as important to take care of our population here at home as it is to participate in projecting our power all around the world.

I’d love to see a universal draft that offered a wide set of service options, such as working in elder care, literacy training, youth mentoring, civic infrastructure projects, and so on. And it would come with the same benefits you get from military service (preferably improved): health care and education.

Herbs add tons of flavor to meals. They are low maintenance, and many are perennial (live through the winter and come alive again in spring). Considering how expensive they are to buy, it’s well worth it to grow them.

Back then I had experienced various levels of harassment in my bottom of the barrel jobs and early life, and those hearings made me absolutely furious. You don’t have to be physically assaulted to experience the degradation of sexisim. A pube on a Coke can can be just as devestating. I remember being skeptical of

There were French people in the audience. They were puzzled when I stood up to sway and clap along during the upbeat portion of the performance, which seemed appropriate and welcomed by the singers. They gamely followed suit, trying to look cool in that way the French have, but definitely giving off a fish out of

Some Harlem churches actually invite people to come and they put on a gospel performance just for visitors. I went with some people who wanted to do it, and it wasn’t bad. Kind of strange, but not terrible.

Thank you. I almost made the same comment but I’m worn out by all the homonym confusion.

I work at one of the biggest technology companies in the world, and this happens now and then, usually within my division full of software engineers. I find it hilarious that all these supposedly tech savvy people don’t understand that their efforts to combat the problem via the reply all button do not work.

To me, he/she looks perfectly cat-like, staring intently at something humans can’t see. I’m curious - what appears wrong to you?

That’s so sad. Glad you can still enjoy some form of Lindt though.

I’ve watched every season thanks to the kind pirates of YouTube. A perfect show in every way.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I do love Lindt truffles. I think they are the best widely available chocolate, much better than Godiva. Ghiradelli is good too.

Thank you for writing this, very well done. The cost of the drugs is outrageous, the side effects scary. That’s a good incentive to avoid getting infected.

Also, did you know that the FedEx logo has an arrow in it? Now I can’t unsee it.

Nice job - I like it!

I’ve enjoyed this series, especially this post. Nice work!

Try high tech. Lots of (tedious) heads-down jobs where you hardly have to interact with anyone at all.
