Really? Urban vs. rural is the only difference. In the age of the internet the only real demand for physical stores is things like produce and other (mostly) food products that wont ship well, which I can understand for a rural school but not for one in LA. 

Because a rural school faces a different need than one in the middle of LA. One is responding to a real need, the other is profiting off of leases to corporations that benefit from a more captive consumer base.
