Considering many productions use in-person, in-booth refs whose sole job is to monitor players for foul play, a lot of places nipped that in the bud before it could become an issue.

I was a beast at Goldeneye. Look at my screen all you want, it wont help you.
Agreed, I use Uber a lot, each and every ride was fast, courteous and almost all were in decent cars. I don’t have to wait for a beat up, rickety old Cab and I can hail Uber anywhere.
It FAR outpaces the taxi industry’s business model.
Yeah, we poor contractors can’t understand the need for insurance and basic income. We’re so dumb! Thanks for standing up for us!
I love Uber purely for the fact that it’s killing the taxi industry. I could write a 100 page book of all the shitty cab experiences I’ve had.
I remember a cab ride from Manhattan to LGA that included driving over 70 mph on city streets.
I get a good laugh whenever people claim that Uber is more dangerous than taxis. I’ve had experiences in cabs with drunk/sleepy drivers, coked out drivers, creepy old men, drivers who are smoking, etc. On more than one occasion I’ve had to ask a cab driver to pull over and let me out and then call another cab. And the…
And that you get an upfront price and you know you can pay with a credit card
Well written. This needs more stars. I deal with contractors every day in my profession & they work long hours, early mornings/late evenings/weekends/holidays etc.
One thing to remember is contractors are essentially self-employed (unless they work through an agency, which is different I’ll admit), meaning, in theory,…
The independent contractor model is far more common than many people apparently realize. I’ve worked as an independent contractor tutoring high school students. Somebody else deals with finding students and negotiating fees, all I have to do is show up and teach, and I get a handsome hourly rate. Most tutors work part…
“a sector Kalanick once famously and snidely referred to as the Big Taxi Cartel”
Well said.
Your writing ability is excellent, but your knowledge of business and law are lacking.
Look I’m no fan of Uber, the few rides I’ve taken in an Uber have been terrible and the drivers got lost, but they and other ride sharing companies have been hailed as champions for “Breaking the Monopoly of Cab companies and protectionist government policies” is under fire for not acting like a cab company? That’s…
My issue with it is the age groups it reaches. I don’t expect my 9 year old cousin to go searching for bill burr/silverman/chappelle/patrice oneal/etc, where he’d find the same kind of content, but he could easily run into it letting a pewdiepie playlist stream.
Conterversial/Risque/offensive humor has to be delivered…
There’s a quote that appears in Norm MacDonald’s recent book, which goes something like “Applause is voluntary, but laughter isn’t”.
Seinfeld doesn’t want a license to be edgy and racist. He’s been a clean comic almost his whole career. That’s why it’s ridiculous that he gets crap from the PC crowd.
The difference is: being funny.
Sure. Everyone has the right to be an asshole, but exercising that right still makes you an asshole.
Owe? No. But he’s still a jackass none-the-less.
