I am a New Orleans native and I currently live in the Uptown area. I did not go to Tulane because I couldn't afford it; I attended UNO (the public university). Do you think this will make a difference to an armed assailant? No. They will just see a woman walking to her house alone, ie., an easy target.

I was in Girl Scouts for all of my childhood. Then we moved from New Orleans to the northshore of Lake Ponchartrain, to Covington. And they were such jerks over there that I quit. Sad to see that nothing has changed since then. Unsurprising, though.

I grew up with cats, yet I still have managed to develop a HORRIBLE allergy to them as an adult. It's so bad...I love cats, but I just can't be near them without my sinuses going crazy, my nose running, my eyes watering & swelling & itching, etc. No more pet kitties for me... :(

I get that she was making a few bucks on the side selling this crap to her patients...but I really feel it was unethical & offensive. I didn't take it personally, though I can easily imagine someone else would.
