That’s a lot of words that don’t really address the fact that some people want to use less fuel and these are the cars for them. You can do the math however you want. You are using more dino juice even if the cost is more.

There were a ton of anti-electirc lobbyists at that time, most weren’t even car manufacturers. So... the technology was ahead of the decision-maker’s mentality of the time.

Well with that forced induction you got a direct injected, 260 hp/260 lb.ft. 160 mph, standard launch control, no-lift shifting, 30% stiffer suspension, unique steering rack, Brembo brakes, a true LSD, and 30 mpg hwy. All starting at ~$23k.

I’m not going to defend the car too much, but on a track, the Cobalt SS from 7 years ago(!) out performed the Mustang GT of the time, and is still ~4 seconds a lap faster than the new Focus ST/GTI.

This is one of the most unfortunate looking cars available today.

Haha, to me the biggest difference between the 1.4T and 1.8 (besides improved refinement and obviously more Torque) was that the 1.8 had way better throttle response. The Turbo’s throttle is a little...laggy, so you REALLY have to boot it when heel/toeing. (I hear a tune fixes that.)

Hmm, I havent noticed that. Did you have the 1.4T or the 1.8?
