I’ll do you one better and say I think the true canary in the coal mine was Mass Effect 3 Multi-Player. Which I love and I think is underrated, and they butchered it with Andromeda, but to me it was what led them down the path that resulted in Anthem.

Count me in with you. I thought the Mako sections perfectly captured how vast and lonely it would be on a planet in outer space. Loved the slightly creepy vibe that would build up over time the longer you were out alone by yourself. Underrated and underappreciated part of Mass Effect.
