I always hold my breath when Weekend Update starts. This week it exceeded my expectations. Colin Jost had some personal insight into Staten Island that lit a fire under him, and for a moment he and Michael Che had something going. It sputtered eventually, but it wasn't a total loss, IMO.

It was her fault. S*%t happens in live television. She should have improvised to fill that dead air instead of completely breaking character in a panic. And cue cards are part of live television. Woody Harrelson used them but was still able to ACT.

Yes. Jay Pharoah does the voice (kind of) but adds NO point of view.

Both Jones and Zamata have limited range. Ideally, Jones could play straighter roles and Zamata would come up with some fun characters. And neither of them can do impressions.

Jones could benefit from an acting class. She dropped out of character whenever she wasn't speaking. Instead, she was hyper focused on the cue cards because she doesn't want a repeat of The Debacle.

She was wasted in a straight role. They could have got a joke out of it if she'd grabbed the Doritos and started eating them as she exited.

All his publicity is from being the brother of a superstar and dating a superstar. He was not the highlight in any of the movies you mentioned.
