They won’t be replaced. They will be accumulated as a fraction. One guy will oversee the work formerly done by 100 and be paid the same as 3. 97% of those jobs won’t be replaced.

Yawn. It’s beautiful, it’s fast, and I’m glad there will still be enthusiasts cars going forward into our electric future. But is anyone else just getting completely bored with hypercars?

Also, most people in the market for a $40,000 car cannot simply opt to “invest” that money. The majority of new cars are financed for a reason, there isn’t cash on hand. I don’t think many people would argue that it’s wise to borrow 40K then plunk it in the stock market and wait for a return (while walking to work)

I hate the sanctimonious implication all of this “financial wellness” industry that wants to convince us, the public, that it’s our own fault we’re not rich. They imply that if you were as smart as them, and followed some basic common sense ideas, you too would be rich. Bollocks! Half of em made their money through

I am so sick of these fucking financial gurus. Buying a new car may or may not be a stupid decision... it’s too muddy and varied for a fast hard rule.

I went on one date with a girl who was a Dave Ramsey disciple.

The people I know who adhere to this philosophy like to make friends (or more precisely, acquaintances) with those with a car, and suggest they should drive everywhere.

I’d have liked the story more if the guy’s pants fell down as he chased his car, and then he pooped all over himself. Honestly, I thought you were going there when the car started farting. Missed opportunity.

Exposure to viruses absolutely improves one’s immune system over time. That’s literally how vaccines work.

And why should I believe you over a former Playmate model?

The semi rigs are wind tunnel tested. I hold a mechanical engineering degree and gauran-damn-tee that I know more than any of you in here. While this monstrosity may look like it does something, you can’t know unless it is tested. This is exactly why we have wind tunnels and computer simulations. You, none of you, and

I love this comment so much.

I thought you drove a Honda...

Here in the mountains of NM, I use the manual mode on my Outback a fair amount because the CVT has a tendency to pick innappropriate ratios on steep grades. Especially when loaded down with 700+ lbs. of 4 people in their camping gear somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 ft elevation. The manual mode certainly isn’t a

I took my Honda Odyssey up some dirt roads going camping and encountered a bunch of “off-road” bros in matching realtree costumes.  They were confused and angry at the sight of my minivan.

On the Stratus: The most capable off-road vehicle I’ve ever been in was a Plymouth Sundance because the owner did not give any shits and would just go wherever at full speed.

Best thing I ever did was get the Mrs a car running 33" tires on 15" rims. Those balloons can absorb anything. “feel” for the curb? You betcha!
