This app isn’t going to force you to stream movies over LTE anymore than you were before.

My guess is that Apple simply provides the tools for individual service/app providers to integrate their apps. That way they spread out the workload and don’t risk delays looking like favoritism.

I think the “powered” used in the headline here is meant to be more informal, meaning it relies on USB-C for IO.

To each their own, but I think it’s just a different take. Personally I prefer to keep my hands down by the keyboard, so adding some touch screen functionality down there makes sense to me.

There are definitely going to be people who miss the physical function keys, but that Touch Bar actually looks really cool.

I don’t really think this is an “optical illusion” in the same way as the dress. It’s just something that looks similar to something else. A skilled painter can give something a glossy or oily appearance, this time it just happened to be by accident.

but that people still give a fuck about cell phone branding

I’m with you one one and two, but I wouldn’t blame this on other people. She humiliated herself, they just happened to capture it.

Drink too much and be thrown out? Yes. Drink too much, and have to be carried out by police officers while you kick and scream and attempt to get away? Not so much.

10 apparently runs a bit lighter on older hardware than 8 or 9. But I can’t confirm this, just reports I’ve heard.

Because in reality the updates have worked flawlessly for most people. But the most vocal will always be the people who ran into issues, because no one goes on the internet to talk about (and no one wants to read about) things working as intended.

I’ve heard reports that the latest screens on the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 perform a bit better while wet, but still not well. But I haven’t seen any verification, and don’t own one of them myself.

I don’t believe any water resistant phone covers water damage under warranty. Realistically it’s impossible to know what some idiot did with their phone, and if it was within the water resistance threshold of the phone.

Feel free to point out where the iPhone users are saying they are doing something that hasn’t been done before.

The phones are a owner, and airline, thing. Owners should know their phone is a hazard, and get rid of it. Airlines can remind their customers. Like they were doing up until the TSA got involved.

The number of explosions does not indicate how many phones are affected. There is no way of knowing how many are out there with a higher probability of exploding, and what that probability is.

100% fact the plane in question did not have a move able armrest. The only 1st class seats with moveable armrest where smaller planes.

Who the fuck cares?

There are consequences to your actions. What’s insane and un-American about that?

Yes. In the U.S. they always wait about a month before releasing non-carrier models, not sure why. As far as I know non-carrier models are always available on launch in Canada and elsewhere.
