Right. It's no secret that Elder Scroll's combat is pretty stale, but compared to most MMO's, where you just sit there and watch bars fill up, it will be considered visceral stuff—I just find that thought funny. It's like when less-than-attractive guys get a lot of action overseas because they don't have Americans;

So I guess the difference between this and other high fantasy MMO's will be....first person? In the world of MMOs, the combat will actually be considered "engaging", hahaha. Consider me cautiously neutral for now.

I don't think you're getting what I'm saying. The only real way to judge whether a game is JUST fun because it's fun is to strip away all the story/plot/scores etc. and see how it holds up.

I was writing a long-winded response to a lot of the comments below, but I think i'll distill it into this:

I actually don't believe that games are "supposed" to be fun—maybe when they were first starting and were basically just expensive toys—but I believe games are now "supposed" to be whatever their designer/director etc. WANTS them to be.

All this talk of glitches is bumming me out—I was literally going to buy this tomorrow if not tonight, but now I guess I'll just wait until they patch it.

I'm happy and glad that Blow is out there making games right now and not (most) Kotaku commenters.

How many ideas have you had to abandon or drastically change because someone beat you to the punch? A situation i'm sure dozens of commenters here have experienced.

So, any word on why they decided to make a sequel? I don't really see any reason for this be a sequel based on the information I've seen so far, but I definitely wouldn't blame them if they just did it so they could skirt around making another batch of new Pokemone—they need to slow down! There will be more Pokemon

That's a pratty gewd one.

I got a laugh out of this.

That was my primary reason for getting an iPhone, my first Apple device—the games.

Maybe Lucas will watch this and think,"Shit, so this is what it feels like when you fuck with something that doesn't need fucking with."

Wow, I've stuck with Sony for a long time (while getting in bed with the other guys as well for exlusives), but if this is true, I just can't see myself buying any of the new consoles until they get hacked wide open.

As someone who has spent the last 8 years of his life trying to break into the music industry while retaining his soul, I found this a very moving read and I wish him nothing but the best.

I played the first one for a few hours and just found it...I dunno...lacking. It gave me that "not bad...for a portable game" vibe, except it costs FAR more than most games that leave me with that backhanded feeling.

Well at least they chose a modern picture of Mega Man.

The animation isn't what would bother me to be honest, I'm just weary of watching/reading/playing/listening to "older" titles that, having not grown up with, just have you thinking "This isn't bad, but ____ has done this better now."

I loved anime so much growing up, but the writing and cliches really got to me as a got older. This looks pretty fucking great though, and leaves me wondering why I never watched this show before. Does the original series still hold up at all for someone going back now? I'm not big on spending all my time saying "Oh

You're a pretty standup guy, replying and all. I've told some of my friends that were super into PC shooters growing up and they seem pretty stoked on the concept as well; should be donating soon. I hope things work out for you guys.
