I'm actually not sure; I didn't try. I imagine the default Shepard's face is probably higher res/more detailed than the options you can actually choose, and that's why you can't edit it, but that's just a guess.

You can, yes. I had the imported face bug, and just remade him (actually wound up making him look a littler better. A few new options.) They look you choose A) Keep import, B) Customize, or C) Default Shepard.

KaMai is correct, it is very easy to spend them; most people don't even look. Some of them can even be fed into ATMs, so I assume vending machines would probably take them as well.

I wish I would have thought of this/known this was its own little meme when this one was created; I totally would have put it on there somewhere.

Believe it or not, it's actually really easy to pass them along. The ones without too much bright, concentrated colors (Mad-Eye Moody, Jack Sparrow) actually get accept at my bank's ATM, and I use spend the rest face-down and no on ever looks at them.
