i agree it's overrated, and the finale isn't that great - it's just the montage at the end of it that's so unique and moving (at least for me)

good god, hugo was not more coherent than the artist.  it was a mess, all over the place.

i agree - i don't mind awkardness, but i think some of the awkwardness just comes from poorly acted scenes and dialogue.

i love contact

the opening credits are far and away the best thing about watchmen

i don't get it.  so the new season won't air on tv, but netflix only?  is this is a first for netflix?

there's a good chance tree of life won't even get nominated, according to odds right now

i think payne is brilliant, but i see your point.  sideways and election are two of my all-time favorite comedies.

i think i feel worse for his filmgoers than i do for gay people

they need to fix sabrina's character as well as her hair

don't know if it's scary, but it's definitely weird

i didn't even read the interview.  i skipped straight down to the comments here to see if anyone else thinks cillian murphy looks like a ninja turtle.

huh?

i mentioned this too without seeing this post first…completely horrified me

plus, puking sucks too, no matter how old you are.  it was almost terrifying for me as a child when i threw up.

david lynch is a great pick, as is the orphanage (that old lady getting crushed by that bus was the worst), but i think mischa barton puking in cole's tent from the sixth sense was one scene that really scared me when i was in high school and saw it in theaters

i guess a good analogy for me would be like a court case: the defendant truly is either guilty or false, but we will never know for the truth certain - a jury can only discuss the matter and try to discern the truth the best they can with the resources they have.

yeah i agree that our opinions and preferences may vary greatly, but i think there is something beyond the subjective realm, even with music.  if i say "radiohead is a better band than arcade fire in every musical aspect.", that is either true or false.  i don't think we're able to know for sure what the answer is,

i actually don't think music is subjective.  if it were, then there would be no real measurable difference between someone like beethoven and a 2 year old plinking a spoon on a xylophone.  sure, it gets harder to tell when you have two great bands lined up next to each other, but that doesn't mean there isn't a real
