Jesus Jason, the only time you “mash A and B” in Excitebike is after you’ve crashed so you can run back to the bike faster.

I prefer to say it’s Latias because it’s stupid fun to say that Ash made out with a Legendary
Just give me a decent lineup and a snappier OS, and you got my money, Nintendo.
I didn’t mean to imply that Nintendo’s hardware was ever considered great. Actually wanted to edit it to say “Even if Nintendo’s hardware had been consistently top-notch,” but Firefox is so terrible with Kinja that clicking the edit dots didn’t work. Didn’t want to open another browser just for that.
Dude, you said it yourself. Games make or break a system. Nintendo has gotten by the past couple generations by developing their best software for themselves. Even if their hardware was consistently top-notch, there is no such thing as a perfect system without a catalog to back it up.
You know why no one cared about a…
Goddamn it Ashcraft, there aren’t any decent ramen places in my area and I am craving it so hard now. Ugh.
A lot of it has to do with the fact that Tara’s the only cast member who lives in LA. Everyone else is in Canada.
“Hi, this is Jason Schreier, please leave the name of the game you’d like me to delay after the beep”
This reminds me of the first time I played Shadows Over Camelot with some friends. That game has a similar traitor mechanic, and the traitor won. Said traitor is also kind of an asshole when it comes to games, so every time that game is brought up, he laughs an evil laugh about it while I keep myself from throttling…
Party balls are a pretty Japanese thing in general. I hesitate to call this Smash-related until I see a beam sword or a ray gun or some heavily outlined textures of food fall out.
I need more intentionally awful anime in my life.
Boy was this show overhyped for me. I think a lot of fans forget just how abysmal the first season is. The only way for me to get through it was to set it to 1.25x speed.
Man, I would be so interested to play a game where my familiarity with a location could be so naturally utilized. That must be trippy and fun.
PROTECT YO GODDAMN NECK
Seriously though all that sudden compression is bad for you
This article is was ill-advised and should either be taken down or drastically altered.
THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE N—CREEPY THINGS
I’m right there with you. I bought a Vita almost two years ago to play the Danganronpas and Steins;Gate, and while I got through the DR’s pretty quickly, I got only a few hours into Steins before I put it down. In fact, I also dropped the anime for the same reason before that.
My Vita purchase is feeling less and less…
You articulated my issues with the articles quite well, the HL one in particular. That, combined with the “I know better than you” tone in the writing, as well as the general reluctance to acknowledge or discuss those issues in the comments, kept me away from Kotaku for most of today.
On the other hand, this is perhaps the only weekend editor I’ve seen that left a bad impression on me so quickly. I’m actually surprised that so many others feel the same as I do.
I totally agree with you about the scare being the payoff in a ton of horror games. For many players, that’s literally all they want out of it. In these cases, the “rollercoaster” isn’t a carefully crafted narrative structure, but rather an expression of the player’s skill to evade. For every time the player fails,…
