I know what you mean, but I think the font is just dragged out whenever Japanese or Chinese writing is required. I've seen this font on tons of things that were supposed to represent either, or both, because no one cared.

I just wish we'd all agree to stop using that tired old faux-Asian brushstroke font for everything Japanese.

I actually played the Japanese version of the sequel first, and I couldn't understand why so many people hated USA's Bust A Groove 2. Then I found out they stripped out all the endings. I guess I also hold the unpopular opinion that the music in 2 is just fine.
