Yeah I definitely agree, when I meant burn, reduction was factored in. In my case I wasn't overweight, was only trying to get lean so I didn't really focus on diet change. Right now I'm satisfied with my weight so I do 30 mins weights and 30 mins cardio 5x week and it's perfect for me.
Hate to say it but 3x a week is probably not going to cut it. The only time I managed to lose weight was back when I was doing 1 hour cardio 5x a week.
