I really don’t know. Part of me wonders if they designed the FB to be specifically 2 liters, and can’t increase the capacity to 2.5 without major rework. It would explain why the WRX is making great power, but haven’t gone for a larger displacement, the way they did with the first gen STi vs WRX.
