For most, it's a luxury item. It's pretty, trendy, and easy to use. For some, like me, it's an ideal light computer. I'm getting one as a super-portable computer for light photo-editing on the go. Sure, it won't replace Aperture on my Mac, but having a data connection on a light, fast tablet is ideal for sorting

They do allow you one redownload of music, but afaik, you have to call apple support to do it.

You do realize all iTunes music has been DRM-free for a couple years now, right?

@John Addis: I don't know, have you used the soft keyboard on an iPad? It blows all the other guys out of the water. I typed a short story on a friend's iPad, and it felt so natural. Apple really knows how to do touchscreen keyboards, I'll tell you that.
