When I was working for car dealerships there was no added cost for dealer trades. They just take a lot attendant and send him/her off in one trade vehicle just to drive back in the other trade vehicle. I loved dealer trades. Spend the day driving around in a couple brand new cars rather than just washing brand new

People are only “forced” to get a hybrid if they want something off-the-lot. They are free to place a special order and wait for a different model (which is basically how it has been for the past 3 years anyway).

Ok so the hybrid is getting better pricing for next year, but my lord is it a pay to play world right now. Screw everyone making under 100K$/yr right?

Here’s the thing: modern cars are so -

I had the ZF in an M5 Competition which I sold a while ago. It was a solid and boring but totally competent transmission. I have an F87 M2 Competition now and the DCT is a lot more direct feeling and the shifts are more firm and immediate feeling than the auto. It does jerk a bit and act like a manual, which I

It’s been my experience that many Asian people do not see humor in sarcasm or facetiousness.

Well, it’s not like the make good manual transmissions nowadays anyway. When most reviewers say the new M2 is subjectively better with an auto, they’re doing something wrong. Sad day, but it won’t be missed in BMW’s case. Now had they been making great manual transmissions all this time, that would be a different

Pretty much this, ZF has essentially become the defacto transmission in damn near every car out there.  There is little reason to bother dumping R&D money in designing a new tranny, unless you a bat shit crazy bald swede, so most just don’t.  That and sticks are inferior in every way to a DCT, with the exception of

Blame ZF, they made a great transmission in the ZF8 that is found in mundane sedans, full size trucks with high tow ratings, and high-performance sports cars.

Might as well give internal combustion a rest while you are at it. EVs are way better for sitting in traffic.

With the exception of maybe the Wrangler, anyone buying any of these cars won’t give a single shit about fuel costs.

Now playing

This car is really cool, and really nice looking, but I feel like Chris Bangle when he questioned Jason Castriota about the Saab Phoenix.

You have the “good” Dodge Journey interior shown as part of the FCA refresh. The pre-refresh instrument panel looked like it came straight out of an 80's K-Car.

HVAC, air vents, windshield wipers and gear shift seem to be pretty low hanging fruit.

Meh, I’m OK with this. Front-engined, expensive sports-cars are kind of Aston’s calling card. They shouldn’t try to out-Ferrari Ferrari. Aston does a very good job of showing that you can build a front-engined, rear-wheel drive two seater that’s every bit as jaw dropping as the offerings of other exotic car

There’s 2 problems that plaque BMWs 1: There needlessly complicated engineering showcases.  2: MOST North American owners don’t understand the concept (or required financial relationship) of precision machine maintenance, muchless preventative maintenance. BMWs are no different than Mercedes or Porsche, if you have an

I still think the 2014 face was the best look of the modern Camaro

I did a euro-delivery of my BMW and took an amazing route in July. I hit two goals, the highest pass in the French Alps (Col de la Bonnette) and the Millau Viaduct.

My daily driver is a 2+2 RWD coupe that’s under 3000 lbs. It’s comfortable, engaging to drive, and I’m able to do all the maintenance myself. Until there’s something comparable out there, I’m frankly not interested in a BEV. I don’t need 500 miles of range or a 3-second 0-60: 250 miles and 5 seconds, respectively,
